About Meat Church

For Matt Pittman, the Meat Church story opens with a trip to Central Texas. A bite of salt-and-pepper brisket made the direct language of barbecue impossible to ignore and started a deeper interest in the craft.

Long before that trip, Matt Pittman had cooked beside Grandma June in Alabama, learning respect for uncomplicated food that tastes right. He brought those lessons to backyard gatherings, then into barbecue competitions. The momentum eventually carried him to BBQ Pitmasters and toward seasonings of his own; Meat Church Holy Cow was Matt Pittman's first rub.

Meat Church brings barbecue lovers together around seasonings and useful instruction. For a technique you can carry to the next cook, begin with the Learn guidesand apply one lesson at a time. Meat Church's aim is to support more capable barbecue through education, seasoning and time spent cooking together.

Outside barbecue work, Matt Pittman lives in Texas with his wife, Tracie, and their four kids, keeping family life close to the fire.
